The History of Dinosaur Dan
by Guy Darrough
Dan Stewart or "Dinosaur Dan", as he likes to be called, found the bones of Missouri's first dinosaur in 1942. This famous discovery has led to many more exciting finds and opened a window into Missouri's prehistoric past. This picture shows Dinosaur Dan inspecting clay exposures.

This photo shows Dan Stewart with other well known geologists. Left to right are Dan Stewart, Groskoph background, Henry Buehler foreground, H.S. McQueen and Lyle McManamy.
